Group Classes Meet One Hour per Week
END OF SEMESTER SHOWCASE SATURDAY NOV 20 6:30 PM
Tickets: $5 per person

"glee"
 Actors learn their craft by joining the Glee Club at Young Artists!
The class will  incorporate musical theatre and acting in a
setting where everyone can identify and participate!
  THURSDAYS  7:00 PM-8:00 PM (Ages 11-16) 
Tuition: $195 (plus $20 costuming fee )

ACTING 101 for ADULTS
If your a parent or area resident who interest in performing has
gone untapped for too long.....this is the class for you!
Character development, taking direction and other
basic elements of the craft will be explored through 
improvisation and scene work.
MONDAYS  6:00-7:00 PM (Ages 18-100!)
MONDAYS 7:00-8 PM (choose the time best for you)
Tuition: $195 (plus $25 costuming fee )  

"Pop Music Performance"


Songs from decades past ('50's through '80's) will make up the body of class work.
 Students will choose the golden oldies they want to learn, sing and perform!
WEDNESDAYS 7 PM-8:00 PM (ages 8-12)  

Tuition:  $195 (plus $20 costuming fee*) 


 ANIMALS ONSTAGE

Students learn the art of characterization by portraying a variety of
animals with an original script based on the character preferences of
participating students.  
 FRIDAYS  6:00-7:00 PM  (ages 6-9)  
Tuition:  $195 (plus $20 costuming fee*) 

IMPROVISATION & COMEDY
Students will explore the art of expressing themselves through creative
think-on-your-feet activities similar to those used in comedy clubs and
shows like "Who's Line Is It Anyway?".  A great class for working on
risk-taking and character-building in a non-competitive environment.
WEDNESDAYS  6 PM-7

PM  (ages 8-12)
Tuition:  $195 (plus $15 costuming fee*) 

Scene Study
A class for young actors interested in exploring dramatic and
comedic techniques, character development and the dynamics
between actor and director.

MONDAYS  6:30-7:30 PM (Ages 11-16)
Tuition: $195 (plus $20 costuming fee )  

TAP
Students graduate from basic steps to combinations as they
get acquainted with one of the classic dance styles of stage and screen. 
THURSDAYS 5:30  PM-6PM (Ages 8-12)
Tuition: $95 (plus $20 costuming fee )  

MUSICAL THEATRE DANCE
Learn the techniques and style of dance most commonly
incorporated in Broadway musicals- 
appropriate for new and continuing students
SATURDAYS  11 AM-12 PM (Ages 7-10)
THURSDAYS  6 PM- 7 PM (Ages 10-16)
MONDAYS 5 PM-6 PM  (Ages 4-6)
Tuition: $150 (plus $20 costuming fee )  

Parent-Child Fitness & dance
A great opportunity for parents and students to spend time together
while incorporating the value of physical fitness and basic dance skills
SATURDAYS 9 AM-10 AM (Ages 7-10 plus parent)
Tuition: $150 per pair 
$75 for parent or child alone
Additional Parents/Siblings join for only $50!  
(plus $15 costuming fee per person )

BROADWAY WITHOUT BOUNDARIES
A unique forum for physically, mentally or emotionally challenged
children to realize their creative potential through acting and music.  
Classes tailored to the specific needs of the individuals. 
Aides/parents welcomed to participate if appropriate
  FRIDAYS 7:00 PM-8:00 PM  (Ages 7-12)
Tuition: $150 (plus $15 costuming fee ) 


DRAMA KIDS
Stars-to-be will love the limelight, 
acting out familiar situations, singing favorite Broadway songs, 
and expanding their creativity through drama games, 
costumes and props. New material for continuing students.
  Mondays 6 PM-7PM (Ages 4-6 )
 
Thursdays 5:30 PM-6:30PM (Ages 4-6 )
  Saturdays 11 AM-12 PM (Ages 4-6 )

Tuition: $175 (plus $15 costuming fee )  

Musical Theatre
Students will select material from their favorite Broadway
musicals- the perfect class for those who love to sing and 
dance, and those who want to improve their skills!
  Saturdays 10 AM-11 AM (Ages 7-12 )
Tuition: $195 (plus $20 costuming fee )  


DRAMA
FOR 
HOME SCHOOLERS

( each class 1 hour) 
Week day classes designed to help students improve their
self-confidence and expand their ability to think creatively
  
WEEKDAYS (time, curriculum and age range flexible. 
Minimum 8 students to establish a class for your group

  Tuition:  $15 per child per lesson

PRIVATE AND SEMI- PRIVATE COACHING
Coaching sessions with Kathy MacDonald (Director of Young Artists Theatre), 
customized to obtain your child or teen's specific goals - improvement in acting, vocal or movement technique, a combination of techniques, or preparation for an upcoming audition.  
Schedule private time, or join with a like-minded student 
(or contact us about finding a partner for semi-private coaching)

Enrollment Policy

Enrollment will be accepted on a first-come, first serve basis. 

Attendance/Showcase Policy (Fall 2010)
Students are permitted 2 absences from scheduled class meetings for which they register and still participate in the Showcase Performance at semester's end (in addition to  religious holidays, emergency or ongoing illnessIf you anticipate missing class, 24 hour notice is appreciated via phone or e-mail.  We respectfully request that parents call the theatre if on the way to class but delayed.  All students must attend the final meeting of their class in order to participate in the Showcase (contact us if you anticipate a problem) Tickets for the Showcase are $5 per person (children under 3 not admitted).  Cameras and recording devices of any kind are not permitted at the Showcase.  DVDs are available for purchase.  Other restrictions may apply.

Discounts (Fall 2010)
A 10% discount is offered to students taking multiple classes (10% off the tuition price of the second and subsequent classes, of equal or lesser tuition.) The discount applies to TUITION ONLY, not costuming fees,   We also offer a 10% discount for children in the same family (10% off one or more siblings' tuitions).  A combined discount of 15% is offered for students with siblings who also take multiple classes.  Please contact us for details.

Class Policies, Weather, Arrival and Departure from Class
Most classes require some memorization of material outside of class.  Students  may be required to provide individual items of apparel including shoes, leotards, tights or "street clothes" such as blue jeans, t-shirts, black pants, shoes etc. Costuming fees  go toward defraying expenses for costumes provided or purchased by Young Artists, Inc., and remain the theatre's property.  Proper shoes are required for dance class participation. In case of instructor illness or inclement weather (we generally, but do not always, go by the public school systems' closings since sometimes bad conditions in the AM have cleared before class time) qualified substitute instructors and/or make up classes will be offered. Please contact us with any questions.   Students not picked up within 10 minutes of scheduled class time will be charged a $15 late fee. The 10 minute courtesy time is extended once only per student during the semester.

Refund Policy/Quality Guarantee (Fall 2010 Semester)
Full refund will be made prior to the second meeting of any class.  There will be no refunds made after September 18, 2010.
